Blackburn & District CTC Celebrate 100 Years of Adventure Sunday 2nd July saw members past and present come together to celebrate 100 years since the club was formed on Ripon Street in Blackburn in 1923.
The morning saw 25 riders taking part in a 100km ride from Grindleton Pavilion via Grassington, Kettlewell and over from Halton Gill to Settle and back to Grindleton. There was also a 100 minute ride in the afternoon for all abilities around the local Ribble Valley lanes.
The afternoon culminated in a party in the Pavilion. Displays included a digital image show, photographs through the decades, club memorabilia, trophies and merchandise for sale. Pie and Peas was served followed by delicious Anniversary Cake.
It was a fantastic day and a lovely atmosphere in the hall with members catching up and reminiscing of happy times on and off the bike. It’s wonderful to see how much the club means to so many people and here’s to the next 100years.
